Congratulations to Dr. Laura Ferguson, postdoc in the Messing lab, on receiving a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award for her proposal entitled "RNA Biomarkers for Alcohol Use Disorder".  This research project proposes to use genomic profiles from human blood samples to identify biological signatures of AUD with the goal of improving the clinical management of AUD including diagnosis, prognosis, and predicting treatment response.

This award provides up to 5 years of support consisting of two phases: 1-2 years of mentored support for highly promising, postdoctoral research scientists, followed by up to 3 years of independent support contingent on securing an independent research position.
