Postdoctoral Fellow, Gonzales Lab

Saul Jaime is a T32 Postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Rueben Gonzales’ lab and is interested in understanding the neurochemical basis for ethanol drinking behavior. He is currently characterizing the noradrenergic response to ethanol administration in the rat brain using chemical techniques.

Saul received his BS from The University of Texas-Austin, MS from The University of Texas-Brownsville (Dr. Luis V. Colom) and his PhD from The University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio (Dr. Jose E. Cavazos). As a graduate student, he was a National Insitutes of Health Intramural Research Training Award fellow and conducted his dissertation research in the laboratory of Drs. Hanbing Lu, Yihong Yang, and Elliot Stein in the Neuroimaging Research Branch of the National Institute on Drug Abuse-Intramural Research Program.

Saul is a recipient of the Carl Storm Underrepresented Minority Fellowship to attend the 2018 Alcohol and the Nervous System Gordon Research Conference.
