Research Assistant Professor, Division of Pharmacology & Toxicology

Dr. Mangieri graduated summa cum laude from Monmouth College, Monmouth, IL, with a B.A. in Psychology and minor in Mathematics in 2002. She obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 2008 from the University of California, Irvine. She performed her postdoctoral training from 2008 - 2013 at The University of Texas at Austin, during which time she was awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award postdoctoral fellowship from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). As head of the Target Validation Electrophysiology Core of the NIAAA-sponsored Integrative Neuroscience Initiative on Alcoholism-Neuroimmune Consortium, her current research works to identify neurophysiological mechanisms through which novel neuroimmune target manipulations may impact alcohol-reinforced behaviors.
