Billi Terresa Cowden Postdoctoral Fellowship
Now Accepting Applications for 26-27 funding.

The Billi Terresa Cowden Postdoctoral Fellowship was launched in 2024 to support postdoctoral fellows investigating consequences of alcohol and other substance use disorders. This fellowship will provide 50% of the salary and fringe benefit support for selected awardees for one year with the possibility of renewal for a maximum of one additional year. Awardees will also receive a $2,000 travel allowance per year.

Eligibility criteria
  • Currently holds a postdoctoral appointment at UT Austin that will continue through August 31, 2027
  • Research focused on clinical or preclinical studies related to mechanisms of drug action, neuroadaptation to repeated substance use, treatment, outcomes, or risk factors (e.g. genetic, comorbid mental illness, early life trauma, family factors, PTSD).
